What World? is a climate simulation sandbox game where you play as an unseen observer with limited but powerful influence over a fragile planet. You don’t control the world—you nudge it. With each mouse-click, you spark events: click on a forest to trigger deforestation, on a city to fuel unchecked urban growth, or on a media outlet to choose whether it spreads truth or misinformation. As temperatures rise and trust in institutions erodes, the consequences of your choices ripple through an evolving population of NPCs who react based on what they believe, not just what is true.

Players can interact with the world through:

  • Clicking Interactables: Almost all interactions are human-centered. Clicking buildings grows cities and pollution. Clicking forests grows oxygen and lowers global temperature…etc
  • Spreading Information or Misinformation: By choosing to promote truth or lies, players shape how the population interprets climate events—resulting in action, denial, or chaos.
  • Zoom and Drag Controls: Rotate and zoom the globe to observe localized reactions and track global change across different regions and cultures.

What World? addresses the topic of climate misinformation, collective responsibility, and the social tipping points that determine our future. It asks players not to fix the world directly, but to understand the consequences of influence—how narratives shape decisions, and how beliefs drive behavior.

The game’s call to action is simple but urgent: Our future is built not just on data, but on what people believe and do together. What kind of world are you helping to create?
